Samantha Kamras is a Canadian actor with an MFA from East 15.
Before moving to the UK, she worked in New Brunswick where she participated in the province's annual theatre festival, Shakespeare troupe and with emerging theatre companies, with which she travelled Canada's fringe circuit. She has played a variety of roles, from Ophelia in Hamlet to Marlene in Top Girls.
Since her move to London, she has worked largely with new writing. It's a passion of hers to help make pieces from the creative ground floor up. She has also continued working with classic texts, including Beckett's Play and as the title character in Lorca's Dona Rosita the Spinster.
Samantha has also worked in film, having won Best Actress at the Silverwave Film Festival two years consecutively.
However, the theatre is her home. Selfishly, there is nothing like delving into a complicated character with an incredible arc and emotional depth. But there is also nothing so satisfying as moving and provoking an audience, giving them something to talk through and reflect on.
